Bill was a family friend, but so much more than that to me. When I think of Bill I think of his unwavering support and kindness to me over the years. When I was a backpacker working my way around Europe I arrived at Chateau de Berne looking for work with no idea that Bill owned it. My French was so terrible that Bill was called upon to work out what I was saying. Ten minutes later I had been invited in, given a bedroom to stay in and a job in the kitchen. An amazing coincidence and memory that I will never forget. Years later I moved to London with my husband to be. Bill and Linda made us feel like family and we had many dinners with them at Esher, happy times at Fulham and even spent Xmas with them. Ben and I were married at Chateau de Berne and it was a wonderful day. I count myself very lucky to have spent time with Bill and Linda and you both have a very special place in my heart.
